Reflections on the path...

Can you imagine, feeling that everyone around you is out to get you, trying to hurt you, and trying to kill you, and you believe that to be the truth? What would you do to overcompensate? You would either prove yourself to be greater or you would hide, fight or run. This is what the experience of injustice, racism, prejudice and bigotry feels like to one who is on the receiving end of the bias.


On the path, you may not feel equipped to speak about racial inequality in this country.


Instead, you may want to share the messages of #togetherwerise #weallbleedred #celebratediversity.


On the path, you may not be the person to share experiences about police brutality, yet still have a strong aversion to abuse of authority and inhumane acts.


If any of the above rings true for you, then we share common ground.


I hear on the path, too many have been silenced and need their voice. I know I need mine. Yet, how can we stay constructive instead of feeding the destructiveness?

Conscious language helps. The mouth can be a powerful weapon for good or evil. The power of the tongue can raise men or bring them to their knees.


On the path, we need to come together and have the difficult conversations.


If you are going to awaken your inner activist who sees the injustices, the brutality, the biases, then know your goal, your destination. What are you aiming to accomplish on the path?


Higher leadership principles can drive you towards the fulfillment of a pre-determined destiny of love, unity, and healing. But, you have to choose that path.


Upon the path of life, you will come to crossroads showing three choices:

  1. Go back

  2. Go forward

  3. Stay

There are times for each choice.


The Past - You may visit going back to ways, things, habits, and people you left behind. If you intend to heal or complete some unfinished business, this choice will serve you.


The Future - You may decide to go forward and leave your past in the past. If you are following a calling, rather than escaping, this choice will serve you.


The Present - You may decide to stay where you are and reflect on your choices. If you seek to gain clarity and gather yourself before embarking further towards your destination, staying present will serve you.


Your power is in the present moment to choose.


Humanity is at a crossroads, an evolutionary step like no other. We have a choice: go back towards the path of destruction and corruption. Or, move forward towards the new personal leadership values and responsibility any conscious, courageous person with a heart would choose.


Where are you going?


Do you value life? Then you will choose love.


No matter how bad it looks right now, keep moving forward. Let love lead. If you encounter a stranger on the path, seek in your heart if he/she has a love language. If they do not, aim to share yours and learn theirs. If they intend to extinguish your light, voice, rights, freedom, make your stand at that moment, and courageously with empowerment know and state your rights and then as much as possible, move forward constructively.


On the path, we had not taken a breath from COVID19 fallout when George Floyd's last words, were "I can't breathe." Now the riots, protests, looting, and curfews. It is a lot to process. Tensions are high, for civilians and those in uniform.


I openly admit to feeling it hard to breathe on a heart level right now. The heart and lungs are in the same jurisdication of the body. With the angst and hatred amongst our fellow humans, I agree there are moments of anger at the injustices I am witnessing.


Yet, the crossroads comes to mind. I take a look at my leader within. To my Higher Power, I look up and within. When I have received a moment to catch my breath, I move forward again towards the destination point.


Love Wins.



On the path, you have a choice to stand in and for love. Have compassion for yourself and others. Choose to stand for higher ground. Understand the breakdown comes before the breakthrough. Take heart.


On the path, share the experience that our Declaration of Independence states,

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness."

Stand for others that may be experiencing or have had a history of persecution.


Because, no matter where you are, or someone else is on the journey, or how bleak it might look now, something is breaking through. Know that, in the end, love wins!
